I Got My Girls Done
Let’s Go, Girls!
Oh my goodness you won’t believe what I did! I got my girls done:) For anyone curious about what this is like I am here to share my real honest experience with you guys! Growing up throughout high school I have always struggled with my weight, but the girls were always tiny lol. I talked to my parents; as most of you know having the volume on your chest makes you feel very feminine and chic. I genuinely have the most supportive understanding parents a girl could ever ask for. They could see this was something that I was struggling with for a while. One thing for sure I knew I wanted to do was to work hard for them. From my freshman year of college until today, I was making steps toward my fitness goals. This year I have reached my goals and am very happy with where I am as far as my weight and overall just being a healthy girl! Of course, I just want to say everyone is beautiful just the way they are and I genuinely mean that! This was just a personal choice of mine because of the long journey it took to get here!
Now lets get into it besties!
Where did I get mine done?
I got my augmentation at St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery with Dr. Prada. He is truly amazing; I had been following his Instagram for a long time and his work is phenomenal. The first appointment I had was my breast consultation appointment. This is when I met with Dr. Prada and we went over all the fine details of the procedure and asked any questions I had. Dr. Prada and his staff were extremely helpful with any little thing I needed or questions that came up later. During this appointment, he did an exam and gave his recommendation of what would be the best fit for me. Dr. Prada also goes over what type of implant you would like. His wife Amy is his assistant that helped showed me 3D renderings of what I would look like with different sizes on (this was very neat to see). All these notes were written down in my chart for when I was ready to book. I went ahead and booked my augmentation for May 31st since I would be finally out of school at that time. I wanted to make sure I had all the proper time to recover and heal.
My Pre Op Appointment
This appointment is usually done 1 week before your surgery time. During this appointment, you get to try on different bras to see what size you like the best on you! We also went over all the pre-care instructions and post-care instructions. I got all my prescriptions filled that included some pain meds, antibiotics, and a Zofran just in case. I also got sent home with a body wash to help prep my chest 5 days before surgery.
What did I decide to go with?
When trying on the bras to see what looked great on my frame; I liked the 450 cc on me. It was very natural looking! I told him I wanted the natural look, but also would like to see “Oh she got hers done, but they look so good” haha. What they like to do is order the size you want and also a couple of sizes up and a couple of sizes down. Dr. Prada likes to do this that way when he gets in there he can see what looks best for you. Dr. Prada decided to put 485 ccs on my left and 520 ccs on my right. I also ended up choosing the Inspiria cohesive implants. To achieve more of a natural look I got my implants inserted underneath the muscle.
It’s surgery day!
The night before surgery I took an antibiotic and ensured there was no lotion or anything on me before going in. My mom and I drove to St. Louis and arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am. It went by so fast that the procedure took about an hour. I was able to come home the same day. All I felt afterward was that I had an extreme arm workout; just was sore and very tight. After your surgery, you are given a surgical bra. This bra has no underwire on it and must be worn for four weeks. You are also covered in an ace wrap for only 48 hours. I was also told not to shower until 48 hours after surgery. When you do showers it’s essential to put the bra back on that way it keeps its form. When resting or sleeping you must be propped up for the first seven nights. This was hard for me because I am a belly sleeper! When it comes to exercising I can not do any workouts for the first six weeks (only light walks). During your first week of post-surgery, you are at a ten-pound weight limit.
How am I recovering?
Today I am currently day two post-op and doing great! I was able to take a shower and remove my ace bandage. The only thing I struggle with was putting on my clothes. You don’t realize how much your chest muscles do for you! To help with my recovery I take a short amount of walks and do icing on and off for fifteen minutes. Thankfully I am in no true pain, just feels very tight on my chest.
My first one-week post-op appointment
I just got back from St. Louis where I had my first-week post-op app. My nurse examined Dr. Prada’s work and the incision sights. She told me that they looked absolutely great and were healing remarkably. I had no bruising only a little bit of swelling, which is completely normal. She told me I can now be sleeping on my sides; just not laying on them. I am still required to wear my surgical bra for 3 more weeks or at least until I go back for my last post-op appointment. Was this the best decision I have ever made? ….. YES!!! When I tell you I am still fangirling that I had mine done by him…. I totally am! I never have felt more confident and womanly. I absolutely love how they turned out. Also, am feeling proud because of the struggles leading up to this moment of accomplishing all of my goals. I am just extremely thankful and blessed!
Questions?
I think that’s all I have for now:) I would love to answer any questions you may have!
