My Second Favorite Yes
I SAID YES TO THE DRESS!!! Aghh I am so blown away and speechless! Like someone come pitch me I am forever on cloud nine. It truly was such a special day filled with many sweet moments of having my mom and dad there along with my sisters. Having your special loved ones with you makes you feel so loved and supported!
We made this weekend a girl’s trip! On Friday my mom and sister drove down to Dallas, TX and met me at the hotel. I came down a day earlier to get my hair done by Goldie & Co. Jojo is the best at my hair. She just effortlessly melts in luxurious color and I am forever obsessed. I have been going to her since my college days so anytime I am down I always shoot her a text. When Mom and Bree arrived we ordered some food in and called it a night. The next day my other two sisters flew in for this special moment which meant the world to me. We made it such a fun day of Christmas shopping. We may have done some damage at North Park Mall in Dallas haha. All of our hands were full of tons of goodies and we knew at that moment we needed to call it in and recharge for dinner;) We kicked our feet back in bed and got ready for dinner at Yardbird. If you ever need a southern home-cooked food this spot has your mouth watering. They are most famous for their chicken and waffles with watermelon. Literary so good with their house made bourbon maple syrup on top….like keep it coming! We spent the whole dinner just laughing and catching up. It was such a nice evening of all us girls. After dinner, my dad flew in and we met him at the hotel to tell him about our girls’ day. After such a long day it was finally time for the moment I had been waiting for since I was a little girl. I just couldn’t believe it was here and I am just so in awe. Was I able to sleep through the night? NO lol, I couldn’t contain my excitement for tomorrow.
Let’s talk about the details!!!
I had an 11:00 appointment at Iconic Bride in Dallas, TX. I chose Iconic Bride because of the beautiful designers they carry in the store. Every time they posted on Instagram I told myself “Yep I am trying that one on too!” It truly felt iconic being in the store surrounded by luxurious dresses everywhere you looked. That morning all the girls and Dad grabbed brunch at the Maple Leaf Diner. Their customer service was amazing! Plus the food I couldn’t stop eating it haha. After Brunch, we headed to the appointment. My heart was racing with pure excitement and couldn’t sit still in my seat. For real just ask my sister! When we arrived we were immediately welcomed by the owner Jair Torres and my bridal stylist Taylor. We were offered champagne while Taylor and I walked throughout the store talking about all things bridal. I told her my vision, but emphasized that I was open to anything. As I walked through the store I went to immediately my favorite designer and started pulling out all the dresses to try on. I went back into the changing room and tried on my first dress. It was very beautiful, but all of the girls agreed it was too simple for me. The next dress I tried on was a step in the right direction. We thought It was beautiful, but we needed one more notch up for it to be Arika. It looked like a red carpet dress, not a wedding dress. I saw a dress on one of the mannequins that was just breathtaking and required two people to get the dress off if that says anything;) My heart immediately melted when I saw it and needed to kneel down and touch all of the intricate details. I went back in the room to try it on and I knew it was the one! I have never seen such a stunning dress in my whole life! I had worked in a bridal store in the past that constantly got new dresses in and NOTHING compared to this gown! I can’t even express just how breathtaking it is. My family’s reactions say it all! Chills immediately filled the room as soon I stepped upon the petal stool. Taylor put on the matching veil and I couldn’t stop twirling in this dreamy dress. She asked me if I wanted to try more dresses on and I just couldn't. I got asked the big question… Are you saying yes to the dress?! without a hesitation, I SAID YES!!! My dad was absolutely speechless while my mom was tearing up. It was one of the sweetest moments of my life I will forever cherish it. The owner told me it was fresh off the runway and it was the only one in the U.S. I knew this dress was made for me. What made it even grander was the people I got to share these moments with. I am so ready to walk down the aisle and to see Nick’s reaction. We all agreed that he is going to cry when he sees me on the big day! This dress will be making its debut on September 21, 2024!
